With more than a decade of experience in both plaintiff and insurance defense litigation, Katie is known for her relentless work ethic, deep understanding of case dynamics, and meticulous attention to detail. She thrives on investigation and uncovering the full picture, ensuring attorneys are armed with the strongest foundation possible when fighting for justice on behalf of clients.
Katie began her legal career in personal injury law in 2015 and quickly gravitated toward cases involving severe injury and loss. Prior to joining Varghese Summersett, she gained valuable experience in both plaintiff and insurance defense firms, which gave her a well-rounded perspective on how to approach and support complex litigation. She is highly organized, tenacious, and always eager to learn more, making her an invaluable asset to the legal team and a trusted resource for attorneys and clients alike.
Background
Katie was born in Germany, where her father was stationed in the Army. The family moved to the U.S. when Katie was 2 years old and settled in Lampasas, where they raised horses, goats, and chickens on a small ranchette. Always an overachiever, Katie graduated from Lampasas High School at 16 years old. She later earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Abilene Christian University, graduating summa cum laude while also working at a personal injury firm. Driven by compassion and purpose, Katie takes immense pride in helping people navigate life’s greatest challenges.
Outside of work, Katie enjoys spending time with her daughter, who keeps her busy with softball games and outdoor adventures, including kayaking, paddle boarding, and exploring new places.
Fun Fact: Katie’s favorite place she’s ever visited is Japan — a destination she describes as “beautifully rich with culture.”
